PHILADELPHIA FLOWER SHOW

Tuesday, March 6th  8:30am – 4:30pm

The 2018 Flower Show’s theme, Wonders of Water! Guests will enter under a canopy of exotic flowers, and marvel at a multi-level bamboo waterfall. An ever-shifting rain curtain will guide visitors over a “suspended” rope bridge, and through a brilliant green rainforest.  Food is available at the Convention Center.  However, the Reading Terminal is directly across the street and offers great food and shopping. We depart the Convention Center at 3pm. Motor coach transportation, tip & tickets included in cost. WALKING INVOLVED

 

CAROUSEL – A BROADWAY MUSICAL

Joshua Henry and Jessie Mueller star in this revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical about a handsome carnival barker, his beautiful wife and the hard times that fall upon them. Also starring Renee Fleming as Nettie Fowler. We have very good orchestra seats and lunch is included. 4 Seasons

 

JESUS, SIGHT & SOUND THEATRE

We will attend Sight & sounds newest showing for a 11am performance.  Jesus is the action packed musical stage adventure that takes you on a miraculous journey alongside the most famous person to ever walk the earth, and the everyday people whose lives he changed forever. KIMMEL CENTER, THE PHILADELPHIA ORCHESTRA LECTURE LUNCHEON

Yannick, Daniil Trifonov, and The Philadelphia Orchestra: It’s a dream team of Rachmaninoff specialists. Following the Grammy-nominated Deustche Grammophon recording Rachmaninoff Variations and Trifonov’s critically acclaimed subscription debut performing the Piano Concerto No. 4, the young Russian superstar returns to perform and record live the composer’s gorgeous and popular Second and Third concertos orchestra. Before the performance enjoy a wonderful lecture by Gilya Hodos with celebrity guest, Jason DePue. Lunch and a glass of sherry provided by the Double Tree Hotel. Enjoy the music while in Central Orchestra Seating. Don’t miss out of this wonderful day! Some walking involved.

WASHINGTON, DC ON YOUR OWN

Bus will drop-off and pick-up only at the Museum of Natural History, which lies in the heart of the National Mall.  If you are interested in The National Museum of African American History & Culture go to their website (https://nmaahc.si.edu/) to reserve an entry ticket. Food is available in all the museums. The Ronald Reagan building has a wonderful food court, located on 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. Transportation and bus tip included in fee.

 

CHARLESTON/ SAVANNAH

Our tour takes you to each city for two nights led by local guides.  We have included Middleton Plantation just outside Charleston, whose garden will be in full bloom.  Enroute to Savannah, we’ll stop in Beaufort for a horse and carriage ride around this delightful coastal town with lovely shops and homes to see.  You’ll enjoy Savannah famous for her hospitality, her many historic squares and handsome townhouses. 4 Seasons

Trip Policies and Procedures

  • Please sign up for trips as soon as possible and at least 40 days prior to the trip. Payments
    to the bus company and destinations are due & trips will be cancelled due to lack of
    registrations.
  • You can register for trips in person or by phone, Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 4:00pm
  • All NEW Trips cannot be registered for until the 1st of the month
  • All trips are rain or shine
  • Refunds will not be given for cancellations unless the seat can be resold. For trips costing
    less than $15, refunds will be issued in the form of credits.
  • Phone numbers & emergency contact information are required for all trip participants.
  • Individuals requiring assistance – NSC offers a wheel-chair lift for Jitney Jaunts only
    – please notify Receptionist when you make your reservation. Individuals requiring
    assistance to meet basic needs must travel with a companion. A reservation must be
    purchased for the companion to ensure seating.

JITNEY JAUNTS

  •  Jitney Jaunts are local trips using the NSC bus & are limited to 16 passengers (12 person
    minimum). There are no tour guides on these trips.
  • When dining as a group, please keep in mind that some establishments will include
    a gratuity of up to 18%. Every effort is made to provide individual checks, but some
    restaurants cannot accommodate this request. If this is the case, checks will be provided
    for tables of 4.
  • Jitney Jaunts are for NSC Members only.

DAY TRIPS

  • Payment in full is due at the time of registration. Phone reservations are permitted, but a
    credit card payment is required.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before the published departure time.

EXTENDED TRIPS

  • Flyers are available in the lobby with full information on all the trips.
  • Deposits and completed reservation forms (available on flyers) are required upon
    registration of all extended trips. Final payment deadlines are listed on flyers.
  • Please arrive 30 minutes before published departure time.
